The Littletons - Dr Dalton, Frank & Rachel

So there I was sitting in Dr Wood’s X-ray review class on a Friday evening in March of 2021. We were marking/measuring the pelvis and most of my numbers were wrong. Dr Herb Wood asked who had a value that was obviously wrong and Dalton was the only one to raise his hand. I wrote down “Dalton is honest.” and whispered that to Dr Katy. On Saturday afternoon Dalton said something funny and Katy leaned over and said he is Honest and funny.

We concluded the class with a practical exam where we had the opportunity to practice what we had learned only now we had the watchful eyes of our entire class. Several students offered valuable feedback and only a few took heed and made correction for improved performance. Dalton was one of those few. Then one of our fellow classmates made a comment and a really awkward gesture during his practical exam which Dalton and I found to be hilarious. We were laughing so hard we both had to excuse ourselves from the room as not to disrupt the class further.

Once we were dismissed for the evening Dalton made a point to apologize to me for the disruption. I replied that no apology was necessary because I too found the student’s comments hilarious. Another student asked what we thought was so funny and we tried to explain it. It was one of those classic you had to be there moments. I described the student in question as “odd”. Dalton, however made a point of complimenting him and called him a good guy. I was struck by the fact that he didn’t take the opportunity to say a disparaging word about his classmate.

On Sunday at the end of class everyone was saying goodbye and I made the point of telling Dalton some of the qualities I had observed in him over the weekend. I told him he was exactly the kind of person we were looking for to join our team.  He had the opportunity to disparage another student and instead he said something kind and complimentary. He is modest, humble, easy going and joy to be around. If you’re looking for a competent, caring, gonstead trained chiropractor you’ll find few better than Dr Dalton Littleton.
